Top 300 Moments that Shaped Major League Baseball: The fans vote
For the past month, Baseball Hot Corner has been counting down the Top 300 Moments in Major League Baseball history. The countdown considered on-field moments, influential people in the game’s history, historic off-field moments, baseball and the media and just about anything you can think of surrounding the past 116 years of Major League Baseball.
As with any countdown, there is plenty of room for debate. Is Babe Ruth being sold to the Yankees really more influential than Jackie Robinson integrating the game? Should Jose Bautista’s bat flip home run be ranked higher than #279? Are there too many events surrounding steroids included?
This is your chance to vote. The rules are simple. To vote, click here. You can vote for as many moments as you’d like out of the top 150 or list some of your own in the comments. You also have the chance to include a write in vote as well.
With Opening Day just one day away, let’s all take the time to reflect on what makes Major League Baseball history so great. No sport celebrates it’s record and it’s past as well as baseball does.
For a more in depth look at some of these moments, as well as interviews with 50 former Major League players, you can read Constantino’s book 50 Moments that Defined Major League Baseball.
