Los Angeles Dodgers‘ rookie Yasiel Puig has 7 outfield assists in 78 major league games to start his career. However for some reason opposition base runners are still testing the cannon of the kid on a daily basis. San Diego Padres’ catcher Rene Rivera found out why he should have been content at third base. Puig unleashes an absolute laser beam to home plate for the run saving out and another example why you don’t take the extra base when Puig has the ball.

Oops, he missed the cutoff man again.

Since there were two out, I’d take that throw anytime. If he misses, it’s a tie game. If the cutoff man gets the ball, he keeps the batter at first. So what? The run would have scored.

Oops. San Diego was up 1. Still, the play was at home. Hits were hard to get, and this would have put them up by two in the 4th. Of course, if you don’t have the best arm in the league, stay away from it.
