FAN FUEL: MLB WEEKLY FRY-UP

In a new weekly feature, I present to you the highlights of the past week in the MLB off-season.

It has been a week since the San Francisco Giants were crowned baseball champions for the second season in the last three years. If you have mentally tuned out since the series conclusion you have missed a week full of greasy fan fried news around Major League Baseball.

1. Blue Jays exodus

The past week has seen quite a few Blue Jays staff jumping ship to other organizations. Farrell decided to bring the party to Boston, convincing both Torey Lovullo and Brian Butterfield to follow suit. Butterfield still could return to manage the Jays but it appears a long shot at this point in time. The last rumor I heard was Farrell was coaxing the batboy, ticket salesman and three members of the world’s fastest ground-crew to follow suit and chase his tail to Boston.

Dunedin Blue Jays manager Mike Redmond won the Miami Marlins managing job, not sure if that is actually a promotion but regardless he will be the heir replacement to Ozzie Guillen.

Major league journeyman and former Blue Jays infielder Chris Woodward retired and accepted a position as the minor league infield co-ordinator for the Seattle Mariners. Woodward played 88 games with the Las Vegas 51′s last season.
