John Gibbons

As first reported by Bob Elliott the Toronto Blue Jays will welcome back John Gibbons as their new manager. Gibbons managed the Blue Jays from 2004 through to 2008 for a total of 610 games of managerial experience.

Gibbons is a no nonsense manager who has a successful track record in managing bullpens and utilizing platoons and match-ups.

Gibbons best year came in 2006 when the Jays finished second in the AL East with an 87-75 record. Gibbons also will holds his players accountable just ask Ted Lilly and Shea Hillenbrand. Gibbons had a falling out with Hillenbrand after he wrote “The ship is sinking” on the Jays clubhouse board.

Regardless Anthopoulos did what he said he was going to do bringing in a second chance manager with major league experience.

Hopefully this opportunity will be Gibbons “dream job”
